Three words to describe Florence: 1) Dignified 2) Serene

3) Charming Feeling: Merry & Content Current Playlist: Bob Dylan, Ben E. King & The Clean Bandit The Humble Abode: 1) My Friends Hostel www.hostelworld.com will help you do the booking! I have no qualms in stating that Nadina is the most welcoming and friendly host I've ever met! Free breakfast, a fridge you can open as many times as you like anytime you want (Sounds like home, doesn't it?) is all you need to make your stay comfortable. The added pleasures include cozy bunk beds, tidy rooms, and the hostel being just a walk's distance from the station and main attractions. All booked? Try www.hostelbookers.com , www.airbnb.com

Florence could very well be a setting described in a Shakespearean romance/comedy play. This Tuscan delight is a paradox; in the sense that it offers architecture & art which is sophisticated while giving out a vibe which is carefree. The town is mysterious yet welcoming and will make you want to visit over and again. Do not miss; The Uffizi Museum where one must spend time being mind-blown by master-pieces from Da Vinci, Michelangelo and Caravaggio. Palazzo Vecchio, a marvel of Tuscan Gothic architecture also offers a view of Piazza del Signoria with their copy of Michelangelo's famous - 'David'.

Considered the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, Florence awaits you with streets full of absolutely attractive and antique doors, windows & door knobs. The kind that beckon you to knock on or look through them, only to transport you to a completely different realm of time, and imagination.

Never have I ever marvelled at walls, doors and windows as if they had stories to narrate from ages ago, like they had been through battles to earn the rust on them. Make sure you walk through Florence for a day, pick your favorite door knob and picture your dream home! While walking around, stop by at a few local joints to devour the food delicacies of Florence. Personal Recommendations: 1) Symbiosi 2) Carduccio Firenze 3) Olivia 4) Liberia Brac 5) Santa Rosa Bistro

Giotto's Tower, situated next to the renowned Duomo offers you a breathtaking 360 degree view of Florence. The 15 Euro entry, wind hitting your face and the 450 + steps will be worth it once you are up and overlooking Florence, I promise.

Two other towers which you could visit for similar views are; The Tower of Arnolfo & The Tower of San Niccolo.

Say goodbye to souvenirs and stop by this extremely adorable store called Paradiso Delle Sorprese to buy memorable gifts for your loved ones! Little containers to store tea & coffee, suitcases with Worldmaps, desk organisers, old barrells and clocks ticking a completely different time in history will make you spend a lot more than you planned to at this store. The San Lorenzo market is a must visit if you fancy leather bags/wallets. Florence is not only a place which you tick off your bucket list. Florence is an experience of love, a feeling; both majestic and magical. You'll know exactly what I mean once you're at the Piazza San Michelangelo during sunset overlooking Florence, with a bottle of wine and four friends listening to a man performing 'stand by me' (by Ben E King) with his healing voice and his acoustic guitar.
